Mrs. Lillian Best CATES, 80, who was struck by an automobile August 18, 1962 died in a Burlington hospital Friday night, August 27, 1962. She was a native of Sampson county and was a member of the Haw River Methodist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Miss Thelma Cates of the home, two sisters, Mrs. H. H. Smith of Haw River and Miss Betty Best of the home, and two brothers, A. J. Best of Haw River, and John Best of Burlington. Funeral services were held at the Haw River United Church of Christ Sunday by the Rev. C.C. Capps and the Rev. Jimmy Shepherd. Burial was in Haw River Cemetery.
