PROBERT Mamie Evelyn Probert, 96, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2003. Ms. Probert was born in Clyattville, Georgia to Jasper and Hattie Bonnell. She spent most of her youth in Valdosta, Georgia, where she graduated from Valdosta High School. She was employed for 46 years at the Florida National Bank in Jacksonville where she was known as Evelyn. She is predeceased by her parents, sister Bessie Lawson of Tifton, Georgia, and Florence Rodgers of Valdosta, Georgia. She is survived by her son, Robert H. Probert, his wife, Gerry, granddaughter, Julie Anne Thompson and great-grandchildren Jason and Marie of Cary, North Carolina, sister Frankie Dee Rice, who cared for her for several years, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6PM to 8PM, Monday evening at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 6940 Atlantic Boulevard, in Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 2nd, at 10:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel and burial will be in Valdosta, Georgia, at Sunset Hills Cemetery, 1104 North Oak Street, at 2:00 PM. The Reverend Ralph Flowers will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her church, Regency Baptist, or a charity of your choice.
