Mr. Waggoner was a maintenance supervisor for the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant until he retired in 1958.
He was born July 8, 1917, in White Cloud, the son of Charles and Mary Alice Rainey Waggoner.
Mr. Waggoner was a member of Lawrence Heights Christian Church and the Lawrence Masonic Lodge No. 6.
He married Eva Ann Brecheisen on Oct. 3, 1942, in Reno. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, James S. Waggoner Jr., Clay Center, and Rodney E. Waggoner, Lawrence; a brother, William Waggoner, Lawrence; a sister, Mary Cook, Lawrence; and two grandchildren.
Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eudora Nursing Center or Lawrence Heights Christian Church and sent in care of the mortuary.
