Arlo was born in Flanagan, Illinois where he lived for his first years. At the age of 5, his parents packed up the family belongings and moved west, landing in Salina, Kansas.
He learned the chores of the usual farm lad...milking the cows, gathering the eggs, and so forth. When he was a young man, the family moved into town and his dad began working on government contracts in preparation for war.
After serving in the Army for 3 years during WWII, Arlo was discharged on May 1, 1946. Upon his return to Salina, he began his courtship of the lovely Alberta Jean Cash.
Dad loved to camp, and one of his greatest legacies, besides his family, is the love he instilled in his children for God's magnificent creation. We spent many summer nights camping at such places as Kanopolis Lake, the Black Hills and the mountains of Colorado.
We miss you dad.

Mr. Robertson was born June 29, 1924, at Flanagan, Ill, and was a resident of Salina for 62 years. He was office and credit manager at the Salina Journal for 29 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church of the Cross.
Survivors include his wife, Jean of the home; two sons, Loren of Salina and Gary L. of Layton, Utah; two brothers, L. Carrol of Salina and Ivan L. of Napa, Calif; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church of the Cross, the Rev. Paul Wilke officiating. Burial will be in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the church.
