Earl and Bessie were married on June 12, 1937, in Columbus, Cherokee, Kansas. They were the parents of one daughter. He was employed by the Curran Co. of Great Falls, Montana. While working as foreman on a construction project in St. Charles, he passed away after suffering a heart attack.

Earl was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the Welch Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge at Fairland.
