George A. Elliott, 76, Centennial, Colo., formerly of Concordia, Kan., died Nov. 1, 2002, at Porter Hospice at the Johnson Center, Centennial, Colo.
He was born July 31, 1926, at Jamestown, Kan., to Winfield Scott and Adeline Barbara Croisant Elliott. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 and saw action in the South China Sea. He married Aurel M. Zohn on Jan. 20, 1950, in Concordia. She preceded him in death on Nov. 16, 2000. After their marriage, they settled in Sand Springs, Okla., until they returned to Concordia in 1982. He retired from McDonnell-Douglas in Tulsa, Okla., where he was a jet mechanic. He was a member of Moose Lodge #1428 and VFW #588, both of Concordia. He enjoyed playing cards and woodworking.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Elliott and husband Carl of Centennial, Colo.; a son, Bruce Elliott and wife Suzanne of Baton Rouge, La.; two grandchildren, Janet Brazilla and husband Scott of Houston, Texas, and Steven Elliott and wife Nashell of Centennial, Colo.
Besides his wife, Aurel, he was preceded in death by his parents, half sisters, Beulah Hansen and Avril Elliott and half brother, Loren Caraveau.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 31, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel, 325 W. 6th St., Concordia, with the Rev. Tim Harlan officiating. Burial will be at a late date in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Porter Hospice at PorterCare Foundation, 333 W. Hampden Ave., Suite 620, Englewood, CO 80110.
There will be no visitation. The body was cremated.
