Allen Bettinger, 65, of Lorena, passed away Jan. 21, 2010. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at OakCrest Funeral Home with James Knight officiating. Burial will be at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at OakCrest Funeral Home.

Rufus Allen Jr. was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Rufus and Mary Kathryn Bettinger, and graduated from Waco High School in 1962. Allen worked at Owens Illinois most of his life, retiring in 1999. Allen loved spending time with his family, especially the great-grandbabies. Allen enjoyed playing golf, fishing in bass tournaments, cheering the Lady Bears and Cowboys, traveling on cruises, grilling for family outings, cooking with his wife, and attending grandchildren sports. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Nathan Fisk.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Pat Bettinger; sons, Doug Bettinger, of Hewitt and Michael Bettinger and husband, Donovan Lord, of Dallas; daughters, Cheryl Eickenhorst, of Hewitt and Pam Fisk, of Lorena; grandchildren, Donna Clendenen, Brian Eickenhorst, Amanda Garrett, Trey Eickenhorst, Kristin Eickenhorst, Joey Clendenen, and Cheyenne Mobley; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Garrett, Tucker Eickenhorst, Cobyn Dieterich; nieces, Rachel Cooney and Sara Gunter; brother, David Bettinger and wife, Julia, of Waco; and special family friend, Edward Modley.
