Buried at the Masonic Cemetery on South Henry Street, Edward Edwards was the husband to Nancy (nee Farrer/Farrar) Edwards.


Obit:
"Edward Edwards was born in Chatham Co., N.C. on March 16, 1780 and died on July 26, 1848 in St. Genevieve Co., Mo. He was married Sept 25, 1807 to Miss Nancy Farrow, the daughter of Peter Farrow. [This name is actually Farrar or Farrer].
In the early part of this century he removed to Robertson County, TN where in 1825 he was ordained deacon by Bishop McKendree. In 1843 he removed to St. Genevieve Co., Mo. where he died. He leaves a wife and several children."

"...Item I give my beloved wife Rebecca Edwards my two negro boys, to wit, Willis & Doctor I also leave to her Susan and Larry and her Child during her lifetime and at her death they are to be Valued then and their increase and then Equally divided between my two sons to wit Oliver and Edward Edwards..."

His brother Oliver Edwards lived in Dallas Co., Missouri, but HIS children mostly lived in St. Francois Co., Mo.

I. Mary Bell EDWARDS, born Nov. 20, 1809 in Robertson, Tn. She married Stephen Ellis DOUTHIT. Moved to Farmington.

II. Thomas Farrer EDWARDS, b. Jan. 31, 1812 in Robertson Co., Tn.; He married on Dec. 5, 1833 to Margaret E. VICK.

III. William O. G. EDWARDS, born on May 4, 1818 in Robertson Co., Tn. He married Sarah Jane TOWNSEND on Dec. 23, 1847 in St. Francois Co., Mo.

IV. Edward G. EDWARDS, born in 1821 in Tenn; Married Angelette BREWER on Jan. 30, 1861. 1880 Census Ste. Gen. Co., Union Twp., Mo.

V. Nancy E. Alsey Ann EDWARDS, born 7 Jun 1824 in Robertson Co., Tn; Married James Melville DOUTHIT on 24 Jan 1844, in St. Genevieve Co., Mo.

VI. John Fletcher Tevis EDWARDS, born 25 Jul 1826 in Robertson Co., Tn; Married Maria Jane PETTIT. 1870 Census Iron Co., Ironton, Mo.
