Francis Marion Cannon Stricken Suddenly

MONTICELLO, Mar. 26 - Lawrence county relatives and friends mourn the passing of Francis Marion Cannon, 79, native and lifelong resident of the county, who died suddenly at his home seven miles east of Monticello from an acute heart attack. His death came as a shock to relatives and friends as he was ill for only 15 minutes, though he had been in falling health.

Interment took place in the church cemetery where the second wife of Mr. Cannon was buried five weeks ago.

Mr. Cannon is survived by one son, John W. Canon, railway mail clerk of Jackson, who was with him at the time of his death, and two daughters, Mrs. R. M. Fleming, Newhebron and Mrs. West Haynes of Columbia. Four grandsons also survive. Among surviving nephews and nieces are W. C. Cannon, Mrs. A. P. Wilson and Mrs. A. C. Brinson of this place. F. H. Cannon, Clarksdale and J. O. Cannon, Mobile, Ala.
