Ross Lee Bennett, 78, of Danville, a former resident of the Fairmount area, died at 8:28 pm Sunday (Dec. 10, 1967)in Vermilion Nursing Home near Catlin after a long illness.

Services will be conducted a 2 pm Wednesday (Dec. 13, 1967)in Fairmount Church of the Nazarene by Rev. Joseph Bright of the Oaklawn Nazarene Church in Danville. The Rev. James Blue will assist. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery west of Fairmount.

Mr. Bennett was born July 12, 1889, near Rossville, a son of Silas and Ida Young Bennett. He was married to Dora Belle Allen at Vinita, Okla. on April 17, 1911.

His wife died April 8, 1941. Mr. Bennett was married to Wintress Certain of Fairmount on Sept. 11, 1943.

He farmed as a young man and later was employed at the Fairmount Post Office. The Bennetts moved to Danville four years ago.

Mr. Bennett leaves his widow, two sons; William Lee of Danville and Bernard of Fairmount; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Four brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death.

He was a member of the Oaklawn Nazarene Church.
