William Howard “Pike” Ardis moved to Eliasville in 1876 from Sulphur Springs, Texas. He had been one of the honored and respected citizens of Young County for many years. He was a merchant in Eliasville for many years.
Survived by two sons; six daughters.
Services were held at Eliasville Methodist Church officiated by the pastor, Rev. Gilleland.
Eliasville and Young County have lost a good citizen in the death of Mr. Ardis. He was always found on the side of all moral issues.
