ANSON, HARRY CALVIN, 75, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Clark Memorial Hospital. Harry was born in Bennettsville, IN. He graduated from Silver Creek High School, Oakland City College, and Indiana University. He is a retired US Navy captain, and also worked for Haas Cabinet, Faucett Printing, State of Indiana, Warrick County School Corporation, and ISTA. Harry was an active member of the Historic Kiwanis Club of New Albany and a Life Member of the Grand Lodge of AF & AM of Springfield, IL. Harry was a community activist and involved in local politics. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Angie Anson; a sister, Mary Lou; and a brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife, Jeannine; a son, John (Pamela Sanderson), of Paradise Valley, AZ; a daughter Carol White ( Randy), of Sellersburg, IN; grandsons, Trent Anson and Brandon White; two brothers, James "Jim" Anson, of New Albany and Ted Anson, of Mishawaka; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will be at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann and Naville Funeral Home on Saturday, from 1-3 p.m., with a memorial service celebrating his life beginning at 3 p.m. At his wishes, his body has been donated to the IU School of Medicine for Medical Research and Education. Memorial contributions should be directed to the Salvation Army, 2302 Green Valley Rd., New Albany; The Ed Endris Boys and Girls Club of New Albany at 1721 Ekin Ave., New Albany, or the Navy-Marine Corp Relief Society, 875 N. Randolph St., Suite 225, Arlington, VA. 22203
