A Native of New Orleans, Mr. Cleary had been a jewelry salesman and watch repairman for more than 30 years. Most of those years he spend as a traveling salesman in seven Southern states, making New Orleans the headquarters.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the Pat J. McMahon-Coburn Funeral Home, 2305 Canal. Religious services will be held in St. Louis Church at East End. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Cleary are three sons, William D. Cleary Jr., Daniel P. Cleary and Ralph P. Cleary; four daughters, Mrs. Robert Couch, Mrs. Harry Froeha, Mrs. Jesse Callo and Miss Helen Cleary, and 13 grandchildren. Mrs. Callo and Miss Cleary are of San Francisco, Calif.
