Daniel R. Rider, 57; of New Albany
Funeral services for Daniel R. Rider, 57, of New Albany, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, at Kraft Funeral Service, Spring Street Chapel, New Albany, with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. He died peacefully Sunday, July 12, 2009, with his wife at his side at his residence in New Albany.
He was an employee with Duke Energy Gallagher Station for some 35 years. He loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, and was an avid deer hunter and photographer.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Barbara J. Scott Rider; son, Jason Rider, of Louisville; stepson, Charles Hilgert, of Indianapolis; stepdaughters, Carmen Reese and her husband, Michael, of Shelbyville, Ky., and Casey Fee and her husband, Ben, of New Albany; grandchildren, Chasttity, Brandon, Bryan, Brittney, MaKayla, Zackary, Samantha, MaKenzie, Ryann, and Mariah; sisters, Vickie Sue Lynch and her husband, Richard, of Jeffersonville, July Dugan, of Pittsburgh, and Robin Burden, of New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Sgt. Christopher Hilgert.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
