DRAPER- Ivan John Duffin, our beloved father, grandfather, Great-grandfather, brother and friend, was called to be with his eternal sweetheart, Eva, on January 31, 1999 at age 89.
Born October 9, 1909 in Richfield, Utah to John Henry and Elsie Olsen Duffin. He married Eva May McAllister on December 11, 1930. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. His dear wife died March 26, 1998. They had been married 67 years.
He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Elders Quorum and High Priests Presidency. He faithfully served with his wife performing sealings in the Salt Lake and Jordan River Temples.
Ivan was a gentle, courteous and kind man with a wonderful sense of humor. He loved his family dearly. He also loved the out of doors and some of his happiest times were spent hunting and fishing with family and friends. He retired from Western Steel in 1976.
Survived by three daughters, Iva Lee (Paul) Egan, Bountiful; Patricia (Sharon) Petersen, Draper; Debra (Michael) Phearson, Portland, OR; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Elmo, Salt Lake City; Leland, Monroe, Utah; Gordon, Carlsbad, Calif. Preceded in death by his father, mother, wife, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held on Feb. 6, 1999 at 1 p.m. at Draper 2nd Ward, 1617 East 2700 South, Draper, Utah. Friends may call Feb. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Cottonwood Holladay Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive and at the Church one hour prior to services. Interment to follow at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
