Solomon Lothrop, seventh child & fifth son of Capt. Hope & Elizabeth (Lothrop) Lothrop, was b. at Falmouth, Mass. on Sept. 10, 1710 and d. testate on Mar. 5, 1737/8 prob. at Bolton, Conn., Æ 28. On an unknown date before 1736 he m. Susanna, who survived him. He had two child of record b. at Tolland, Conn., the second b. after Solomon's death on Apr. 2, 1738.

In Manwaring's abstract of the Hartford Probate District, Vol. 3, p. 305, citing Probate Vol. XIII, p. 111, is the following record:

• Solomon Lothrop, Tolland. Will dated Feb. 15, 1737-8:

• I, Solomon Lothrop of Tolland, in the County of Hartford, do make this my last will and testament: After my just debts and funeral charges are paid out of my personal or moveable estate, I give the remainder unto my wife Susannah to be to her only use and dispose forever.
• I give to my daughter Mercy £100.
• Should my wife bear me a son, my will is that my sd. son yet to be born should have all my real estate, houseing and lands, buildings, orchards, &c. And I do order that he pay unto my daughter Mercy, before mentioned, £100 money or bills of public credit, one year after my sd. son shall arrive to the age of 21 years. But if my wife bear me a daughter, then my will is that all my real estate as aforesd. be equally divided between my two daughters.
• And also my will is that my wife have all the use and improvement of my real etsate, as well buildings as lands, to and for herself for the maintenance of my child or children until my son (if God bless me with one) shall arrive to the age of 21 years.
• I do hereby appoint my wife Susannah sole executrix.

• Court Record, Page 91 (Vol. XV) Feb. 22, 1748-9: Joseph Lothrop, a minor son of Solomon Lothrop, late of Bolton decd., chose his father-in-law Matthew Loomis of Bolton to be his guardian. Recog., £1000.

The children of Solomon Lothrop and his wife Susanna, both recorded at Tolland, Conn., are:

• i. Mercy Lothrop, b. Oct. 1, 1736, d. Jan. 15, 1827 prob. at Monson, Mass., Æ 81; m. in Jan. 1753 Joshua Fuller, s. of Young Fuller & Jerusha Beebe, and a descendant of Edward Fuller of the Mayflower. Joshua was b. at Colchester, Conn. on Sept. 9, 1731 and d. at Monson, Mass. on Oct. 6, 1810, Æ 81. Joshua was also a descendant of the immigrant Rev. John Lothrop of Barnstable, Mass., the latter's eldest dau. Jane (Lothrop) Fuller being Joshua's ancestral grandmother.

• ii. Susanna Lothrop, b. Apr 2, 1738; no further record available to the memorialist.
