He was one of four children born to William and Nellie Easton Eslick. Bill grew up in Elk Point, SD and attended school there. Bill was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and became an Eagle Scout in 1936 in Elk Point.

In 1938 Bill married Eleanor Chaussee. They were the parents of one son, Robert. Eleanor passed away in 1979. On January 8, 1983, Bill married Barbara Shirley.

Bill was a veteran of WWII and served in the Navy as a Master Electrician in San Diego, CA. He was an electrician for over 30 years. While working for E.A. Pedersen and Company of Omaha, NE, he serviced light plants in Minnesota and Iowa. The last 15 years Bill was the owner and operator of BAR-ES Appliance Repair.

Bill was an ardent supporter of the Walnut Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. He was a member of the Walnut Am Vets and the American Legion in Walnut. Bill was very active as a member of the Walnut First Presbyterian Church. He served on the Session, was a member of the Choir, and served on the Pastor Search Committee. He was a long time member of the Walnut Fire Dept. Bill served terms on the Walnut City Council and on the Water Board. He was a past President of the Walnut Community Club. Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star in Marne, IA.

Bill passed away at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, NE, on Monday, May 7, 2001. He had attained the age of 82 years, 6 months and 24 days.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Eleanor, his brothers: Earl and Eddie Eslick, and his sister Irene Kneebone. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his son Robert Eslick and his wife Mariel of Venezuela; his daughter-in-law Janet Eslick of Fort Collins, CO; his sister-in-law Nancy Eslick of Mesa, AZ; his two granddaughters: Colleen Eslick, and Kelly and her husband Peter Ganison; his grandson Greg Eslick and his wife Kristie; his step son, Sam Shirley and his wife Brinda; his two step-daughters: Lori and her husband Lee Burras, and Jolene Shirley; his two step grandchildren: Brandi and Daniel Shirley; three great grandchildren: Alexa and Chae Eslick and Aspen Ganison; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Ceremonies: Saturday, May 12, 201, 10:30 a.m., First Presbyterian Church, Walnut, Iowa.
