She was an author, editor & educator. She was the author of 42 published novels & numerous other writings.

Annie and Leroy's only child, son, Marcus William "Bill" Brooks, b. November 24, 1930 in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri., died Jan. 17, 2010 in Oregon City, Clackamas County, Oregon., he leaves a wife Elizabeth, children,grandchildren and great grandchildren.
