J.J. Cross, 79, moved to Archer County in 1907 and helped establish the town of Megargel. He lived at Megargel until moving to Fort Worth. Mr. Cross was a road commissioner and constable at Megargel.
Joseph Jefferson Cross, 79, West Texas farmer, moved to Archer County in 1907 and helped establish the town of Megargel, where he lived until moving to Fort Worth. He served as Archer County Road Commissioner and constable at Megargel.
Mr. Cross was a member of Cornell Baptist Church and was a former employee of Fort Worth Floral Company.
Survived by four sons - Virgil A. Cross, F.C. Cross, Walter W. Cross, Joe L. Cross; two daughters - Mrs. Lillian Stegall and Mrs. R.H. Henderson; one brother - Roy R. Cross; one sister - Mrs. Edith Jennings; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
