HANGER - William Tompkin Hanger was born on a farm 11 miles north of Clinton, January 8, 1874, and died December 10, 1947. He was the son of Benjamin David and Josephine Hanger. On December 20, 1905, he was united in marriage to Miss Bertha Breckenridge of Clinton and to this union were born two children, Elmer and Ethel. Death came to Mr. Hanger at the Clinton General Hospital where he was brought for care. He had been in failing health for the past year. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, the son and daughter, above mentioned, both of the home, a sister, Mrs. Effie Tshappat of near Quarles and many lesser relatives. Funeral services were conducted at the Vansant Funeral Home December 12, at 1:30 o'clock. Pallbearers: Gifford Sperry, Lester Howard, John Vestal. Interment was at Brown Cemetery. Those attending from a distance were: Clarence Hanger of Stafford, Kansas, J.A. Hanger and John Whiteman of Kansas City, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Ratcliffe of Nevada, Missouri and Mrs. Jewel Carson of Sedalia, Mo.
