She married Everett Luther Caughron on 03 July 1948 in a double ring ceremony which was performed by Reverend G. B. Free in his home. They resided in Randleman and had 3 children together, 2 daughters and 1 son; Janice Leigh (who died at the age of 5), Thelma "Denise" and David Everett Caughron.
Arlien graduated from Randleman High School in 1941 and was employed by Laughlin's Hosiery Mill.
She died at Randolph Hospital and was buried at Old Union United Methodist Church Cemetery in Sophia, Randolph County, NC. She was 70 years old at the time of her death.
