Elbert Lee Parker, Sr, age 97, of Snellville, GA, formerly of Bangor, passed away, Sunday, October 4, 2009 in Snellville, Ga. Mr. Parker was born January 9, 1912 in Alva, Mississippi to Milton and Hattie Parker. He was the sixth of eight children. In 1935, he married Annie Delores Hudson and to this union 13 children were born, 8 daughters and 5 sons. He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his sister, Blanche of San Diego, CA; his children, Viola of Memphis, TN, Thelton (Alberta) of Ocala, FL, Clotee of Chicago, IL, Fannie (John) of Chicago, IL, Darnell of Bangor, Blanche (Greg) of FL, Kate (James) of Lansing, MI, Bobbie (Van Buren) of Dolton, IL, Elbert, Jr. (Brenda) of Chicago, IL, Dorothy (Kenneth) of Dacula, GA, John of Kalamazoo, and David of Kalamazoo. He also leaves to cherish his memory many precious grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and his caregiver, Sable of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie; his son, Robert; a daughter, Annie; his siblings, Annie, William, Raliegh, Aaron, Thelton, and Wheeler, Sr. A wake will be held on Friday from 12:00 Noon until funeral serives at 1:00 PM at the Gospel Tabernacle Baptist Church, 32605 M-140 Highway, Covert. Interment will follow in Monks Cemetery, Geneva Township. Arrangements by Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home.
