A Hamilton County resident for most of his life, Baker retired from farming in 1967. In 1969 he began working at the Tipton Clinic where he was employed until a few weeks ago.
He was born Dec. 13, 1895, in Hamilton County to Oliver and Betty (Davis) Baker.
He was married Dec. 31, 1912, to the former Bertha Jane Harney who died in 1972.
Baker was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Arcadia.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Melva) Ehman of Atlanta; two sons, Clifford R. of Atlanta and Leroy Paul of R.2, Sheridan; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Another son, Harrison, is deceased.
