BOSSIER CITY, LA - Funeral services for James Lee Beck, 85, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Bill Stowell of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation with the family will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the funeral home.

Mr. Beck was born on November 3, 1924 to Edith Jewell Vernon and Gideon Witham Beck in Lorraine, TX. He passed away on January 15, 2010 in Bossier City, LA. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps in World War II attaining the rank of captain. He served as a lead navigator with the 327th Bomb Squadron and the 92nd Heavy Bomb Group in the European Theater and was awarded three Distinguished Flying Crosses and five Air Medals for his service. He was a member of the Masonic Queensboro Lodge and Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Mr. Beck was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of over 59 years, Mary Lois Ames Beck; son, Steve Beck and wife, Dr. Sherri Madden; daughter, Carol Hine and husband, Bill; grandchildren, Chris Beck and wife, Amy, Sarah Beck Monchak and husband, Adam, Barron Carroll and wife, Corinne, John Mark Carroll and fiancée, Chelle, Angel Mock and husband, Aaron, and Brent Hine and wife, Jeanne; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chris Beck, John Mark Carroll, Aaron Mock, Barron Carroll, Brent Hine, and Adam Monchak.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rose-Neath Funeral Home
