Mrs. Blake was born in Hutchinson, Kan., June 15, 1920, to James W. Abbott and Winifred (Strickland) Abbott. She was raised in Hutchinson, and on Dec. 19, 1937, June married Max Alfred Blake. In 1945, the couple moved to Long Beach, Calif., where they resided until 1970, when they moved to Oak Harbor. She had been employed in California as a grocery checker. Her interests centered around family —- her children and grandchildren.
June is survived by her daughter, Karen S. Knoll and husband Clarence of Oak Harbor and Max E. "Ed" Blake and wife Mary of Fallon, Nev.; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; her sister, Beverly Sue Riggs and husband Don of Hutchinson, Kan.; also, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Max on Jan. 18, 1996, and by one brother, James W. Abbott.
