Services on Sunday For Mrs. Widener
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Church of Christ in Memphis for Mrs. J.H. Widener, long-time resident of Hall County who passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3, following a long illness.
Services were conducted by J. Paul Lusby, minister of the Church of Christ, assisted by A.W. Francis, Jr. and interment was in Fairview cemetery under the direction of Womack's Funeral home.
Mrs. Widener was born in Lebanon, Oklahoma, then Indian Territory, on Dec. 24, 1890, the daughter of J.F. Arterberry and Amanda White. She was married in 1910 to J.H. Widener and the family moved to Hall County in 1925.
Survivors are her husband, four sons, Lonnie, Roy, and Lloyd Widener of Memphis and James Charley Widener of the Navy; one daughter, Mrs. Opal Yarbrough of Tulia; half sister, Mrs. Will Ozment of Childress and two half brothers, Andy Brown of Olney, Okla., and Alfred Brown of Madill, Oklahoma.
Flower bearers were Mrs. Floyd Buckhalter, Mrs. Mildred Phillips, Mrs. Thurman Ellerd, Miss Odena Yarbrough, Miss Estelle Sweatt, Miss Patsy Richards, Miss Corene Phillips, Mrs. Honeria Helm, Mrs. Trilton Davis and Mrs. Sylvia Alewine.
Pall bearers were Exie Sweatt, Louis Richards, Victor Yarbrough, Henderson Smith, O.D. Phillips and Ben Wilson.
