I have found no documentation of her birth or parents before her listing in the 1900 census as the daughter of John A. & Keziah Adams along with two sisters and various inmates of the poor home for which her father was the superintendent. Sisters Hattie and Addie are confirmed daughters of the couple, per their death certs. The issue is that the census indicates Keziah was the mother of 5 children with only 2 living (Hattie & Addie). The previous administrator of Edna's memorial had indicated her mother was a Ruth Adams (1862-1905) but that seems to be an error and a reference actually to Edna's father's mother Ruth (Turner) Adams (1832-1905).
