F. Evedale Swindell, 88, formally of Altus, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, in Ft. Worth, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Jim Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home.

Evedale was born Aug. 18, 1921, to Art and Pinky (Schoope) Allensworth in Knox City, Mo. She attended school in southeastern Missouri.

On March 30, 1940, she married the love of her life, Freeman Swindell, in Oklahoma City. The Swindells moved to Altus in 1961 where Evedale worked right along with her husband in their family business as the bookkeeper. She was an active member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed furnishing fresh roses from her garden for the church services. She loved sewing ,quilting, and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Freeman.

Evedale is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Barker of Watauga, Texas, and Judy Easly of Altus,; six grandchildren, David Jalovec and wife Cindy, Steve Jalovec and wife Linda, Debbie Jackson and husband Charles, Teresa Jalovec, Rusty McCrite and wife Billie Jo, Sandra Johnson and husband Danny; and numerous great-grandchildren.
