John Aaron Huffstetler, 19, drowned in the Big Sandy Reservoir, on June 1, 1986. He was an outstanding young man who achieved much in this 19 years. He will be sadly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

John was born Sept 23, 1966 in Steamboat Springs and attended kindergarten through the fifth grade in Yampa, CO, before moving to Farson, WY, to attend sixth through 11th grades in the Farson-Eden School. John graduated from Winfield High School in Winfield, KS., in 1985.

He was active in 4-H for 10 years, winning may championships in livestock and showmanship competition and was twice outstanding 4-H member of the Eden Valley 4-H Club.

John was recognized in Who's Who of American High School Students as a sophomore. He was also recognized as an outstanding athlete, both in basketball and track and was twice chosen as all conference and all tournament in WY.

John attended Boys State in Douglas, WY, in 1984 and attended the National Future Business Leaders of America Convention in Indianapolis, IN. John also earned numerous other awards.

John is survived by his parents, Patricia (Harvey) and Aaron Boyd Huffstetler, one brother, Mark and sister, Susan Huffstetler. His maternal grandparents, Carroll and Sarah Harvey of Myton, UT. Paternal grandparents, Bueford and Doris Huffstetler of Yampa, CO. And Great grandmothers, Ada Huffstetler, Mae Owens, and Ethel Shipman. Aunts and Uncles.
