OBITUARY

[The Shelbyville Democrat, Shelbyville, IN - Monday, September 27, 1909]

"Mrs. Henry Harding, wife of Henry Harding, died at their residence in Morristown at 5:15 o‘clock yesterday morning, of tuberculosis of the lungs, aged sixty-five [64] years, two months and nineteen days. Besides her husband she leaves four daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. Maurice Worland of Greensburg, Mrs. V.B. Fisher of Tippecanoe, and Edith and Janie, who live at home. The sons are Theodore Harding of Indianapolis, and Ezra Harding of Morristown. She is also survived by two brothers, George Adams of Columbus, and Henry Adams of Shelbyville. There are also several grandchildren.
Mrs. Harding had been a resident of this county for the past thirty-eight years, and was held in high esteem by all her acquaintances. The funeral services will be held at the M.E. church at Morristown at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 28. Rev. Guthrie officiating. Interment will be made in Asbury cemetery in charge of Stewart & Fix."

--------------------------------------------

Mary Ann Adams was the daughter of John G. Adams(1815-1886) and Louisa "Lucy" (Geyer) Adams(~1824->1870).

Mary Ann was born July 7, 1845 in Warwick Twp., Lancaster County, PA.

Mary Ann and Henry were married ~1866...most-likely in Lancaster County. Henry and Mary are then found in Fayette Twp., Juniata County, PA in 1870. They moved to Morristown, Shelby County, IN ~1871.

Henry and Mary were the parents of ten children:

Aquilla
Theodore
Minnie
Cecilia
Ezra
Martha
Mary Katherine
Almyra B.
Jane "Jennie"
Carrie "Edythe"

There is no stone for Mary Ann. Having died just four months before Henry, it is logical and reasonable that Henry was buried next to Mary Ann. So, we can surmise that Mary is resting either to the left or right of Henry.

My relationship is that Mary was my maternal ggg-grandmother.
