Sandra Orrie Davis Jones died Friday the 27th of November 2009 of a stroke. Mom and Dad were on their way to Burger King, in Ft. Valley. They got to the end of their drive way Sharon Road (named after me when I was 9 years old) and mom had a stroke. It was quick she felt no pain. Her truck went straight across Willville Road into a ditch and up a bank hit a fence and dad was able to turn engine off and truck rolled back down hill before putting it in park. A lot of neighbors were around due to it being Thanksgiving weekend and they were all still entertaing outside. Lee, the kids and I had decided to visit without calling (as it had only been 2 hours before that I had spoke to my mom)and came on seen within 5 to 7 minutes after EMT had arrived.
Sandra had AF which was causing her blood clots. July 21st mom was in the hospital (outpatient) to have her heart shocked, when her Dr. discovered her blood clot and wasn't able to finish the procedure. Her Doctor's were trying to thin it to be able to work on her heart, but time ran out before she was able to have the proceedure.
Born to Aurellia Patrick Craig and the late Charles Lamar Davis 6-27-1940. Two brothers, Charles Bambie Davis (Freida) and Floyd Hugh Davis (Charlene). Married to John William Jones, 3 kids, Randall Lamar Jones, William Keith Jones (Amy) and Sharon Elizabeth Jones Holliday (William Lee Holliday). Grandkids: Randy's: Ashley Megan Jones Fountain (Joesph Fountain), Randie Marie Jones (Deseased), Randon Lee Jones. Keith's: William Chase Jones and Christopher Seth Jones (mother Wendy Elizabeth Lee)and Hannah Grace Jones (mother Amy Odom Jones). One Step grandson Cody Tyler Eakins (mother Amy O. Jones) Sharon and Lee's: Kaylee Elizabeth Holliday, Khory Ethan Holliday and Kaden Eli Holliday. Great Grandson: Colt Anderson Fountain (parents Ashley and Joesph)
Sandra was retired from Blue Bird Body Co. after 32 years. She was the first lady supervisor. She was hired by Mr. George Luce, the son the late Albert Luce the original founder. She had no application, he found her while she was a Robins Air Force Base and offered her the job.
She and my daddy John had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary October 11th 2009, they were married in 1959 by Dr. Chamlee in Ft. Valley in his home on Knoxville, Street. Services were held at Chamlee Memorial Baptist Monday 11-30-2009, REV. Jay Lauritsen officiating. Mom and Dad both were members of this church. (Chamlee Memorial Baptist was named after Dr. Chamlee) Mom loved to read books (had just finished reading Twighlight, Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum Series),do crossword puzzles, and LOVED to watch the Atlanta Braves play baseball, and her second team the Cubs. I love my mother and I will always miss her. I know she is in Heaven and one day we will see each other again.
