Born in Palmyra, Mo., Aug. 14, 1853 [1849, obit.]. Reared in Paynesville, Mo.; attended the public schools and seminary of that place; took a course at Kentucky University; studied law; spent several years in journalism. Began preaching in Omaha, Neb., 1888, under the auspices of the A. C. M. S. Was State Bible School Evangelist of Nebraska 1889-92. Now minister First Church, Salem, Ore. --Brown, John Thomas. Dr. Davis Errett
Funeral services for Dr. David Errett, 80, retired clergyman who died Monday night, will be held Saturday from the Holton & Son chapel with entombment following at Angeles Abbey mausoleum. Dr. Errett had been in Long Beach seven months on leave of absence from North Bible college, Pierre, S.D. where he was a professor. For several years the decedent had been a teacher, but before that time he held several pastorates throughout the Northwest. He was a native of Palmyra, MO., and a member of the Long Beach First Christ church. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Ursual E. Errett, a brother Dr. Joseph Errett of Long Beach, and a sister, Mrs. Kate E. Reid, in Kentucky. --The Long Beach (CA) Sun - 17 Apr 1930, provided by Jim Craig
