LYONS - Elmer T Battershell, 86, died Aug 13, 2001, at his home in Lyons.
He was born Aug 23, 1914, at Rolla, the son of Ottawa and Lillie Goodrich Battershell. A longtime Rice County resident, he was a retired hoist operator for American Salt, Lyons.
He belonged to Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a board member, and the Cancer Support Group, both at Lyons.
On Nov 26, 1936, he married Eva Marshall at Hutchinson. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Thomas, St Louis, Ed, Marion, and Curtis, Hutchinson; two daughters, Janice Tener, Wichita, and Ann Fundenberger, Lyons; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 am Thursday at Church of the Nazarene, Lyons, with Dr Donald G Strohmeyer presiding. Burial will be in Lyons Municipal Cemetery, Lyons. Visitation is from 2 to 5 pm today at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons.
Memorials may be sent to the church, in care of the funeral home.
