Mary Ellen White, daughter of John Elmer and Nola Mae Jones Marcum, was born April 21, 1923, in Springfield, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, January 2, 2010, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, eight months, and eleven days.
On August 11, 1968, she was united in marriage to Rev. Kenneth Harold White, and they shared thirty-four years before his passing on July 14, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Roland "Doc" Lewis; and two sisters, Opal Roberts, and an infant.
Mary is survived by two daughters, Annabelle Lewis, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Lucille Kelley, and her husband, Dale, of St. Robert, Missouri; three grandsons, Scott Lewis, and his wife, Christy, and Gene Berry, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Jack Kelley, and his wife, Michelle, of Richland, Missouri; a granddaughter, Tammy Rice, and her husband, Rob, of Waynesville, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Grovespring community and then lived most of her adult life in the Lebanon area. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family and a supportive and helpful minister's wife, Mary also worked as a waitress throughout the years. She had worked at several area restaurants including, Munger Moss, Sand Springs, Ozark, and Wyota Restaurants. She greatly enjoyed her work as a waitress and also did babysitting at times.
Mary made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of Sleeper Pentecostal Church.
She greatly loved angels, porcelain dolls, and collecting salt and pepper shakers. She enjoyed feeding the birds and growing beautiful flowers and plants. Her family was very dear to her and she especially

enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and was a kind and caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 6, 2010 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in the O'Dell Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until service time under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.
