Mrs. E.B. Abelgore

Odell - (PNS) - Mrs. Etta Brett Abelgoe, who was taken to the hospital at the Livingston county home at Pontiac Monday, died Wednesday after a two weeks illness.

The body was removed to the Watson funeral home in Odell, where friends may call until the hour of the funeral. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. P.J. Eckhoff, pastor of the Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in a cemetery at Kankakee.

Etta Brett, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Brett was born August 20, 1861, at Ashkum.

She lived for a number of years at Bradley, where she was married to Charles Abelgore, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters and four sons; Mrs. Jesse Smith, Mrs. Edna Snyder and Mrs. Ella Jensen of Chicago; Charles and Bert of Corvallis, Oregon, William of Waverly, IA., and James, who resides southeast of Odell. Several grandchildren also survive.

She was a member of the United Brethren Church and had made her home in Odell for the last 22 years.

According to 1900 Federal Census, Etta Abelgore was born in Aug. 1860 in Illinois. Her father, James Brett, was born in England and her mother was born in Michigan.

She married Charles Abelgore in 1887.
The following children are listed in the census: Jennie, 19; Charles A., 16; Jessie M., 14; Willis A., 12; Enda C., 10; Bertie, 8; Hellen, 5; and James B., 2.
