My mom ~ "this is the day the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." My mom's favorite saying. She was a Sunday School teacher for years and her students still remember her saying that every Sunday. She had an infectious and hearty laugh, a very social person and would talk to anyone. She was very service oriented and helped others before taking care of herself. From the time I was born, I remember grandpa (her father) living "next door". My parents set up a trailer on the other side of the driveway on our farm, and he lived there until a few months before he died. She took care of us young kids, worked on the farm, canned and froze all of our food that she grew, and held a factory job for a couple of years at night in the 60's. She was a very hard worker, working side by side with my dad. In the 70's my dad built her a greenhouse and she had the best flower garden you have ever seen. She was an amazing woman....and I miss her so.
