Alfred Dingus, 83, of London, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at his residence.
He was born July 28, 1926, in Dickenson County, Virginia, the son of the late Fred and Alice (McCoy) Dingus.
He was preceded in death by wife, Helen (Casto) Dingus; sons, Wayne and Martin. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Susan (Dingus) and Roger Seymour of Mt. Sterling; four grandchildren, Ronald and Tammy (Seymour) Vansickle of Mt. Sterling, Tommy and Tracey (Seymour) Perkins of Bloomingburg, Rick and Terressa (Seymour) Stires of Mt. Sterling, Tommy Seymour of Mt. Sterling; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; special companion, Gearolyne (Geri) Hiles of Darbydale.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at the PORTER-TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 331 W. Main St., Mt. Sterling. Rev. Wayne R. Seymour will be officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14.
