Death Calls Good Woman.

Mrs. J. T. Lowe died at her home near Penton Monday night, September 1st, after an illness of several months. She had passed her sixty-second birthday, and after a long, busy and useful life, she died as she had lived – honored, trusted and loved.
The deceased is survived by her husband, four sons – Messrs. S. W. and C. W. Lowe, of this city; H. R. and A. A. Lowe, of Penton; three daughters – Mrs. J. A. Moon, Mrs. O. S. Abernathy and Mrs. H. O. Edge, all of Penton.
Mrs. Lowe was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Macedonia and the interment was in the cemetery at Macedonia Tuesday, Sept. 2nd, at 3:30 o'clock. Elder J. T. Satterwhite conducting the funeral services.

A Tribute of Love.

On the night of Sept. 1st at half past 10 o'clock, the death angel visited the home of Mr. Jno. T. Lowe and bore the spirit of his companion to its heavenly home. On the following afternoon the remains were laid to rest in Macedonia Cemetery, Elder Satterwhite conducting the funeral services.
Mrs. Emily Elizabeth Lowe was born March 20, 1851, and died Sept. 1st, 1913. She was married to Jno. T. Lowe, Dec. 24, 1868. To this union there were eleven children, of which four died in infancy. A sorrowing husband, four sons and three daughters and a number of grandchildren and relatives mourn her loss.
She had been a sufferer for twenty years, but had been confined to her bed nearly all the time for a little over four months. She bore her sufferings patiently, always had a smile for everyone.
Toward the last she knew death was near, and told her husband how good he had been to her, told the boys she had prayed for them and she wanted all the children to meet her in heaven. She said she hated to part with them all, they had been so good to wait upon her during her sickness, but said "Children, your Heavenly Father calls you, come home, and I must go, but it is hard to leave you all behind." While all were weeping around her, she was so calm, and said she didn't want to cause any unnecessary tears. But the tender care of loving hands, the skill of attentive physicians and the prayers of loving ones could not keep her here.
She was such a devoted wife and mother, that she sacrificed many of her pleasures for the family and friends, always ready to help the poor and needy and send a ray of sunshine in many homes.
When young she joined the Primitive Baptist Church, and ever since has lived a beautiful Christian life. She enjoyed attending her meetings, but was deprived of that privilege many times on account of her afflictions. It can well be said a better woman never lived.
Weep not loved ones but prepare to meet her in that better world where there'll be no sorrow.
