he was the son of Noah (Jines) Joines. He married Amanda (Mandy) Gates. He was a Union civil war soldier.in the 17th Redg of KY Calvalry. Some claim he changed his name from Jines to Joines to straighten out his civil war record? He moved to IL with family, then moved back to KY and started a General Baptist Church, which is named after him. 4 of his brothers and a sister stayed in Dahlgren, Hamilton Co Il. Some of the brothers use Jines, some Joines
