Seller ID: 16thmichiganwanted

Notes from seller: Great ink ID'D CDV of LT Seymour H. Adams. Ink identified at the bottom front of the carte "Seymour H Adams 2nd Lt." This image would date circa 1863. Adams history is as follows:
Residence Scipio MI; 24 years old.

Enlisted on 8/7/1862 at Scipio, MI as a Sergeant.
On 8/26/1862 he mustered into "G" Co. MI 18th Infantry
He was discharged on 6/26/1865 at Nashville, TN
He was listed as:
* POW 3/24/1863 Danville, KY (Paroled; exchanged)
Promotions:
* 1st Sergt 12/1/1862 (Estimated date)
* 2nd Lieut 2/18/1863
* 1st Lieut 8/16/1864 (As of Co. I)

Modern ball point pen note on the back references the he was a Libby Prisoner. Don't know the truth of that. Carte is mounted on thinner card stock than typically encountered. Image exhibits some surface foxing. Michigan images are not easy to find.

This is an original authentic Civil War item bad is guaranteed as such for life

Occasionally a mismatch is made and if you are a family member with doubts, please send a message and ask for the photograph removal. I do not match memorials and photographs to anger people, but rather, to educate.
