John married Josephine Kohler and their children were Mary Margaret and Charles. After Josephine's death, John married Catherine Ruetz . Their children included Winfred, Simon, Phillip, James, Madlyn, Augustus, Clara, Harriet, and Nicholas.Note: The spelling of the name Kriener on the grave marker is in conflict with the spelling of others buried on the family plot, especially for John and Catherine's underage children. It is also in conflict with the marker for John's first wife, Josephine, where the name is spelled as Kreiner. John and Catherine's marriage record and death certificates have the last name spelled as Kreiner.
