Price Cleveland Strawderman, 87, of Mathias, died Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
Mr. Strawderman was born Oct. 16, 1914, in Mathias and was the son of the late Jessie and Martha (Strawderman) Strawderman.
He was employed at Rockingham Poultry before retiring and was a member of the Freelandia Bible Church in Broadway, VA.
His first wife, the former Roxie Gay Foltz, preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 1981. In 1987, he married the former Violet L. Anderson Foltz, who preceded him in death on Jan. 27, 1994.
He is survived by three daughters, Ellen Shoemaker and Dorothy Painter, both of Broadway, VA, and Estelle Presgraves of Amissville, VA; seven sons, Connalee and Franklin Strawderman, both of Mathias, Rodrick Strawderman of Wardensville, Stanley Foltz of Mathias, Carl Foltz of Brandywine, Luther Foltz of Harrisonburg, VA, and Paul Foltz of of Timberville, VA; a foster daughter, Ruth Miller and a foster son, Ervin Mattox , both of Mathias; a sister, Susan Strawderman of Damascus, MD; 35 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Dr. Orson Hensley conducted the funeral 2 p.m. Friday at the Grandle Funeral Home inBroadway, VA. Burial was at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mathias.
