A pioneer has passed away. Henry Clay Douglass died at the home of his sister, Mrs. M. N. Todd who resides in the Millikan house, on Monday night last after many months of suffering. Deceased had lived in Placer County upwards of 20 years, following the occupation of miner most of the time. A few years ago, he teamed for Mr. G. H. Garrison, the Forest Hill merchant. Deceased was a single man, was a native of Byron, NY, aged 62 years. He was a man well liked by everyone, and his friends will be greatly pained to learn of his death. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon. Interment in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Auburn. The pallbearers were: Berry Mitchell, Joe Granger, W. F. Wilkinson, and J. M. Tuttle.
