December 30, 1909:

Sunday at his home in this city occurred the death of William E. McClure after a severe illness of more than a week from kidney trouble. The funeral services were held at the family residence Wednesday afternoon at two oçlock, conducted by Rev. David Hidy and the burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery.

William E. McClure, son of Thomas J. and Nancy McClure, was born in Wayne County, Indiana, September 14, 1835 and died at his home. He was married to Miss Nancy Ellen Brown, of Huntington, who died October 18, 1872. To this union four children were born, two of whom survive him.

On December 6, 1874, he was married to Miss Cordelia Slusser, also of Huntington County, and to this union six children were born, four of whom survive him. He leaves living a wife, six children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The children are William of Lansing, Michigan, Mrs. Ella Sheets, of Toledo, Ohio, George of Norfolk, Virginia, Fred E. of Goshen, Edwin E. and John Richard, of this city.
