Prague resident, Gayle (Gasper) Eckroat Pritchett was called peacefully home to her Lord on Monday, January 11, 2010. She died at the Prague Municipal Hospital at the age of 71. Gayle was born on October 31, 1938, in Oklahoma City to Gerald Gerome and Veda Lois (Veach) Gasper, the first of five Gasper children.

Gayle graduated from Northeast High School in Oklahoma City with the class of 1956. Gayle married William M. Eckroat, III, on April 4, 1964. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1982. She worked in Oklahoma City for the Oklahoma County Farm Bureau, the House of Representatives, and Associated Motor Carriers. On June 16, 1984, Gayle married Cletus O. Pritchett and moved to Prague with her sons, both of whom graduated from Prague High School. She worked for Pritchett's Department Store in Prague and Shoney's Restaurant in Shawnee. Gayle was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Until recently, Cletus, Gayle, and a large flock of Canadian geese lived on 25 acres at what was commonly known as The Duck Pond. Her parents also preceded Gayle in death.

"We love you, Mom, and we will always admire you for your strength, courage, and loving generosity. You will be greatly missed."

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, William Michael Eckroat, IV, of Plano, TX, Joseph Alexander and Ashley Eckroat of Oklahoma City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald G., Jr., and Jan Gasper of St. Charles, MO, Robert William and Ann Gasper of Hot Springs, AR, Stephen Clark and Nancy Gasper of Fayetteville, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Christine Carol and Bron Coussens of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Breanna Heidi Eckroat and Nolan Alexander Eckroat of Plano, TX, Matthew Daniel Eckroat of Oklahoma City; other relatives and many friends.


A prayer vigil will be held at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 7:00 PM

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 11:00 AM, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Prague with Father Price Oswalt as the officiate.

Interment will be on Thursday, January 14, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Resurrection Cemetery, 7801 NW Expressway Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73132. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
