The History of Perry Co., OH, stated that in 1907, her Boley family lived in Bristol (Dutch Ridge). On the day of Teresa's wedding to George Green, they had to break the ice in the watering trough to give the horses a drink before hitching them to the surrey to take her to St. Patrick's Church.
The Greens lived on a farm near St. Joseph's where they were members and had 7 children, 5 girls and 2 boys: Helen O'Brien Hefner, Grace Wilson, Mary Agnes Wilson, Leo Thomas Green, Pauline Green Green, Dorothy "Sr. Concetta" Green & Geo. Adrian Green, Jr. George's daughters were farm hands. He was a coal miner & the coal mine was a meeting place for the neighborhood youth. On a winter evening, there could be 30 kids sleigh riding there. George would signal them all to go home by turning on the porch light. George played the fiddle for country dances.
Their children: Helen m. Robert O'Brien, an insurance agent. After Robert's death, Helen continued the business at 33 N. High St., Columbus. In 1976, Helen m. Charles Hefner, an electrical engineer. Pauline m. Frank Green & had 4 children. Dorothy entered the convent of St. Mary of the Springs in 1933. Her religious name was Sister Concetta & she taught school in Lancaster for many years before ministering to the sick & elderly in Columbus. Leo served in the Air Force during W.W.I as a B-17 pilot & was shot down on a mission over Germany & held prisoner for a year. He later took over the family home. He & his wife had 8 children incl. Tom, Terri, Ted Tina, Tod & Tammie. He was a retired mail carrier & his hobby was carpentry. The youngest son George Adrian, died at 5 months.
They attended a great Boley-Bowe Family Reunion of 1924 in Lancaster, Ohio at brother Clem's home (article attached). The Greens were married for 49 yrs. when George Sr. died.
