Abram, the son of John Irvine, with his sisters and brothers-in-law, came to Kentucky in 1787 and settled on Salt River about five miles southwest of the present location of Danville.

Will of 8 Jan 1801, Mercer Co, Kentucky:
"I, Abraham Irvin of the county of Mercer and State of Kentucky being in a weak and low state of health, but of perfect mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament - and first, I recommend my soul to God my Creator that gave it and my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian manner....."
