FINAL RITES OF HARRY H. ZUGG
Harry Herman Zugg, 71, of Route 3, Lancaster, died at 12:15 a.m., Friday morning in a Kirksville hospital, where he had been a patient since 12:35 p.m. Thursday afternoon. He had been in failing health for some time.
Born in Ottumwa, Ia., on August 8, 1896, he was the son of John and Maude (McCluskey) Zugg. On April 9, 1917 at Keokuk, Ia., he married Mary Burnett who survives. Also surviving is one aunt, Ollie Thomas of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Boyd Zugg.
Mr. Zugg had spent most of his life in the Lancaster vicinity, where he was a merchant in Lancaster at one time. He was a veteran of World War I.
Mr. Zugg was a fifty year member of the Lodge of Love No. 259 A.F. & A.M. He was also a member of the Baptist Church in Lancaster, where funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. James Ingersoll, pastor of the church conducted the services, assisted by the Rev. Robert Beeler of Lancaster.
Masonic services were held at the home Saturday evening. Burial was in the Arni Memorial Cemetery with military rites at the graveside.
The body was at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, until 7:30 p.m., Friday evening when it was taken to the family home, east of Lancaster. At noon Sunday the body was taken to the church.
Music was furnished by Mrs. John Pruner and Mrs. Donna Welte, with Mrs. Lena Hall as pianist.
Selections were "In the Garden" and "Heaven Will Be Worth It All."
Bearers were, Gilbert Norman, Earl Ayer, Jesse Ayer, Raymond Shaw, Walter Beeler and Herbert Melvin.
