Betty Holley, daughter of John P Holley and Mary Caroline Curtis, was born 4 October 1861 at Pulaski, Giles Co TN. She married Thomas N. Hammond on 6 January 1881 in Giles Co. He was born 22 April 1860 in Marshall Co TN, son of George Washington Hammond and Mary Jane Darnell.
Betty and Thomas remained in TN until about 1890, then moved to Robertson Co Texas, USA with their four children. In Robertson Co they had two more, making six total before Thomas died on 22 September 1899 in Robertson Co.
Betty later moved to Houston and in 1930 was living with her daughter, Annie. Betty died at Houston on 12 January 1946 and was buried in Forest Park Cemetery at Houston. J G Hammond (son John G) of Fort Worth was the informant for her death certificate. The death certificate named her parents as Tom Holly and Mary Caroline Curtis.
