Mr Meronk was born in April 2, 1893 in the town of Stockton, a son of Mr & Mrs Frank J Meronk. He moved to Meshan at the age of eight with his parents who later located in Buena Vista. the junior Mr Meronk entered World War I service on Aug 8,1918 at Superior and was honorably discharged on June 17, 1919 at Camp Grant, Ill. He had lived since in Buena Vista. His marriage to Miss Lucy Rader of Buena Vista took place on June 30, 1927. She died in Sept 28, 1938. Mr Meronk later married Dalza Dowty also of Buena Vista on April 29, 1944.
Surviving are his wife, his parents of Buena Vista, three children Irene, Leo and Daniel Meronk at home., a stepson, William Dowty at home and following brothers and sisters; Nick Meronk, Mrs John Guth and Mrs Bernard Bannach of Buena Vista; Mrs Ed Pehoski of Stockton, Thomas of Stevens Point, Henry of Hatley, Anton, Dave and Mrs Harry Kluck of Milwaukee, Mrs William J Cummins of Chicago, and Sister M Pauline of El Pasco, Tx.
Mr Meronk was a member of Arsott American Legion post and of Schumann-Heink Chapter No 20 Disabled American Veterans.
Funeral was held at St Bronislava's Catholic Church of Plover, Burial in Church cemetery.
